I'd like to think that a well-lived life follows a sort of trajectory, leading to a kind of conclusion or completion. Here's my trajectory, such as it is. After meandering for years, it may finally be headed for a goal.
This page will link to a variety of "beliefs," some about Capital-L Life and some about very mundane things, perhaps best referred to as "Everyday lower-case life." To avoid absurdity, I'll try not to mix the two.
Were ordinary Germans "responsible" or "guilty" for the atrocities of the Hitler's Nazi regime? And how much responsibility do you and I bear for crimes and sins of our government(s) -- from slavery to My Lai in Vietnam to Abu Ghraib in Iraq, not to mention people who die for lack of health insurance ?
It is arrogant to believe that we have earned and fully deserve everything we have acquired in life. On the contrary, we are deeply indebted to others.

Everybody know that schools need to be improved -- the 30% dropout rate is proof of the need. School systems and outside groups are planning or conducting programs to fix the schools -- but most of them are missing a vital ingredient.
In a successful program (scrapped for lack of ongoing funding) disadvantaged younsters prepared for and succeeded in college. And a school's culture changed.
